About the role

 

This position is responsible for assisting with client bottle orders and to assist with the receiving and organizing of the returned samples for login.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • General duties to support lab operations (can require client communication, sample login, shipping of samples and bottles);
  • Organize workload to client supply requests;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; follow ALS Safety Manual and policies;
  • Work in a team environment;
  • Position is for Monday to Friday day shift coverage, but extended, evening or weekend shifts may be required as needed to serve our customers;
  • Prepare samples for shipment and complete waybills;
  • Deliver shipments to the airport and/or supplies to client offices, as needed;
  • Data entry into computer software (LIMS system) for shipping orders;
  • Participate in weekly rotation of janitorial duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, taking out garbage, and cleaning the bathroom;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

About you:

  • Good English communication skills required (auditory, verbal, writing, and reading);
  • Basic user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confident with computers;
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment;
  • Well organized with attention to detail and proven ability to meet strict deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take on varied tasks as required;
  • Commitment to excellence and a client-focused attitude.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent preferred;
  • Some experience working in a warehouse or fast-paced environment is an asset;
  • Some customer service experience is an asset;
  • Valid provincial Class 5 driver’s licence with clean driving record;
  • Knowledge from high school science courses and/or basic lab safety is an asset.
