Reporting to the COO of Glen Dimplex Americas, the Vice President of Operations will be responsible for the management of strategic supply chain operations including inbound & outbound logistics, procurement, supply planning, distribution facilities and 3PL partnerships supporting a growing business in the Americas.


The ideal candidate will be driven to find efficiency across operations and supply chain and increase customer service levels from supply & distribution. All of these are critical elements of the business model which will allow the organization to service a growing network of customer channels, while contributing to overall profitability. Responsibilities:


Oversee all aspects of operations and supply chain for GD Americas, including supply planning, warehouse and distribution, purchasing, supplier forecasting, logistics, and 3PL partnerships.

Responsible for developing and overseeing the vision and execution of a comprehensive supply chain management strategic plan which will drive optimal service within GD Americas’ diverse customer channels and optimize efficiency

Assist in the establishment, and ensure compliance to, operational units’ short-term and long-term goals with overall corporate objectives

Develop and implement operational efficiencies and supply chain best practices such as systems integration and optimization, inventory control, demand planning and SKU optimization

Build a best in class team to manage operations and enable internal growth

Provide advice, guidance and direction to subordinate executives and managers toward their professional development

Work closely with manufacturing leaders in the US to understand capacity planning, production issues and opportunities.

Work closely with Sales leaders to understand customer requirement, Service Level Agreements, and customer service feedback for improvement.

Identify and analyze information to give early warnings of potential problems and recommend corrective action

Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management,

Purchasing, Operations Management, or related field

A minimum of ten (10) years of operational supply chain management experience in progressively senior positions

Extensive experience in logistics, distribution, inventory management, purchasing, warehouse management as core functions of the supply chain

Experience in leading large teams of supply chain professionals

Demonstrated ability to manage cost performance, supply/demand forecasting and distribution execution across a variety of product lines from multiple sources

In depth knowledge of key supply chain/logistics processes and current best practices

Experience building and overseeing multi-site teams

Strong business acumen, analytical, financial, and P&L skills

Proven negotiation experience across a range of complex contract structures

Experience with ERP applications such as SAP or Oracle is considered an asset

Integrated Business Planning (IBP) experience is considered an asset

Experience in sales and operation planning (S&OP)

Extensive experience with lean supply chain management and Six Sigma practices

Experience with customer service and/or marketing is considered an asset

International experience is required, preferably within China and/or Malaysia, and/or Vietnam, and/or Mexico

Comfortable with travel to the United States and the European HQ, quarterly or on an as needed basis



PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:


90 Days:


  • Has gained a firm understanding of current supply chain and associated challenges and opportunities
  • Has brought some additional stability to the supply planning organization and has re- integrated the SAP secondees into the team
  • Understands business with enough depth to contribute cross-functionally


180 Days:


  • Will have taken a lead role in the new factory/warehouse initiative and will have ensured an effective transformation to the new location
  • Has evaluated the existing team, conferred with executive team and has made any changes to create a high performance team
  • Will have completed a benchmark analysis of existing process & prepared a list of proposed improvement plan initiatives.



1 year:


  • Will have achieved successful completion of objectives as set out by leadership at commencement of the role
  • Will look beyond “go live” of factory transition and is setting new goals for efficiency and
  • excellence
  • Will have developed a strategy and solutions regarding 3PL partners in the US to assist them in forecasting and capacity optimization
