To support the on-going growth of our business, we are currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and safety-oriented Production Manager to join our team. This position will be responsible for leading three processing teams (day/night/weekend) to safely operate both facility processing and material handling equipment.  The ideal candidate will possess experience with building teams and transition culture towards a safe and predictable environment capable of job cost control and analysis.  As a recycling company we take pride in getting the most from our equipment and see value in rebuild/reuse strategies as part of our improvement solutions.  If you take pride in developing people within a robust process, then there is an opportunity for you to thrive within our Company!

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage as a proactive initiator in the development/maintenance and improvement of the AERP safety program achieving COR and fire code compliance

  • Staff and manage a team of supervisors, lead-hands, and equipment operators to process materials in alignment with the operating budget

  •  Audit the production operations for safe operation of equipment, quality of materials and Integrity of data

  • 360-degree communications with supporting departments and leadership team daily to review and coordinate:

    • Safety

    • Material quality, flow, and availability

    • ERP inventory accuracy

    • Staffing/HR

    • Equipment readiness

  • Document, lead and audit the startup and shut down of all processing equipment

  • Train and validate proficiency for safe and effective use of all equipment

  • Cross train team at all levels to ensure depth with a robust team

  • Coordinate break coverage and schedules to ensure priority flow throughout the plant

  • Assist in liaising with the maintenance team to prioritize equipment service and repair

  • Initiate, encourage and participate in continuous improvement activities to improve safety, performance and drive annual objectives

  • Maintain ERP system data, post metrics and investigate and trouble shoot variance

  • Participate in all safety/incident investigations

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing people and operations

  • Degree or technical Diploma in related field

  • ERP implementation experience is a strong asset

  • Safety program implementation experience is a strong asset

  • ISO implementation and document data control experience are also strong assets
