Residential Route Supervisor - Hillsdale

In the position of Route Supervisor, your responsibilities will include but are not be limited to the scheduling of routes as well as record and time keeping.  You will ensure the timely collection of curbside materials in the Simcoe County contract while building positive employee relations.  You will be effective at team building, while enforcing good Customer Service.  You will also be the primary line of communication and contact with Municipal staff and must be comfortable in dealing with different levels of Municipal staff members. 

Daily tracking and enforcement of productivity is critical. Coaching and training for lower performing drivers must be addressed on a daily basis and changes implemented when needed. Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be able discipline subordinates if safety protocols are followed.  Other reporting such as accident/injury reports and statistical may be required. Ensuring compliance with all Provincial laws and Miller Waste health and safety policies and procedures is mandatory.

Consistent and fair progressive discipline must be administered when needed. Compassion and understanding of individuals needs must be practiced when required and assistance must be offered and encouraged. The ability to promote a team culture must be demonstrated to eliminate or reduce



Successful candidates will have a DZ license, a clean driving and CVOR abstract and be able to operate all types of vehicles required for the contract.  You have an excellent attendance and performance record as well as proven team building skills.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and good organizational skills are mandatory. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel and Outlook are a minimum requirement for this position. Must have the physical ability to collect materials, both with the automated system as well as manually.  Familiarity with the Simcoe County and its surroundings would be an asset. You must be available to work Saturdays when required.
