Job Description

From within the warehouse environment, the Warehouse and Inventory Assistant supports Packaging lines, staging for the lines and receiving all components, including receiving bulk and shipping finished goods, loading them on a delivery truck or pulling materials off the truck and organizing them in the warehouse. The responsibilities of this position include taking into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven Core Values such as sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to the area of responsibility.

Shift: Full time hours, between 7:00 am - 5:30 pm


Responsible for Power Equipment Operation:

  • Follow safety procedures while operating forklift 
  • Daily power equipment inspection
  • Take care of forklift battery maintenance
  • Provide a safe work place for other workers

Responsible for the efficient and timely performance of warehouse functions:

  • Staging all required packaging components to the packaging lines
  • Verify and return all bulk and packaging components from packaging lines
  • Prepare orders for shipment to customers
  • Notify Operations Coordinator when any discrepancies occur
  • Ensure that log sheets are accurately recorded
  • Ensure that staging and returning areas are organized
  • Perform cycle count of bulk products and packaging components inventory
  • Support warehouse and production personnel as needed
  • Ensure that warehouse is clean, secure, and well maintained
  • Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
  • Good record keeping of all receiving related documents (Packing slips, Bill of Lading, Stock Transfer Records etc.)
  • Confirm all the received items are entered correctly in the system
  • Organize and maintain all picking aisles, clear empty skids and restock picking bins from overstock as needed
  • Transfer all bins in Syspro accurately in real time
  • Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Strictly adhere and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned for which you have the skills and capability to perform

Requirements

  • Forklift certified 
  • Knowledge of Syspro and Microsoft Office an asset
  • Knowledge of inventory, warehouse and packaging components procedures
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal in English
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be reliable and on time
  • Willing to take any necessary work
  • Accuracy in verifying counts and logging
  • Cooperative attitude, willingness to meet challenging deadlines if required
