Business Systems Analyst

Compensation: $47,300 – 55,000/year, group benefit package, pension plan, Employee Referral Program, free or discounted admission to Science North and partner attractions

As the Business Systems Analyst, you will be a vital member of the team responsible for designing and leveraging efficient technology solutions to meet organizational needs. You will work with internal clients and on projects providing an advanced level of technical expertise and support, facilitating technical training, and making suggestions for continuous improvements.

 

Position highlights:

 

  • Design, develop, and/or implement IT and business solutions
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders for requirements analysis
  • Participate in business process improvement
  • Develop and analyze functional and technical specifications
  • Leverage organizational knowledge, IT systems and standards to develop, maintain, and execute system roadmaps
  • Lead software and systems enhancements
  • Provide/maintain user training and documentation on IT systems
  • Assist in the resolution of recurring issues (problem management)
  • Assist in system capacity planning
  • Perform advanced technical support for escalated incidents (tiered incident management)

 

Qualifications:

5-6 years’ experience in the following areas:

 

  • Solid understanding of technology and computer systems, including programming languages, networking protocols, and database management systems
  • Ability to think critically and analyze complex problems to find effective solutions
  • Ability to manage IT projects effectively, including planning, communicating, scheduling, and tracking progress
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and requirements. Able to learn quickly and stay up to date with new tools and systems
  • Experience with the following operating systems: Windows, MacOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, ChromeOS
  • Solid understanding and experience in Microsoft 365 administration, including how to configure, manage, and troubleshoot the various components of the platform, including issues related to Exchange, OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint
  • Experience with SharePoint Intranet site development
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting to automate repetitive tasks and administer the Microsoft 365 platform
  • Experience with database environments such as SQL, 4D and FileMaker Pro would be helpful

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information technology, or a related discipline
  • Certifications an asset: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certifications
